Forest Green 1 Lynn 2

LINNETS finished the pre-season unbeaten and notched a notable win at their experienced hosts.
"The idea was to get used to playing away and we've beaten a good Conference side," said Mills. "In the last 20 minutes they couldn't keep up with us. In patches it was the best we've played in pre-season."
Two goals from Dave Puttnam in nine minutes were enough at the Conference side.
Forest Green fielded former Aston Villa midfielder Tony Daley, European Cup winning keeper Nigel Spink, ex-QPR striker Dennis Bailey and Mills' business partner and former Derby teammate David Norton.

Mills cleared Billy Clark's header off the line, while Chuck Martini limped off with a groin strain in the first half.
Replacement keeper Ben Nower was at fault for Rovers' 70th minute opener as he dropped Daley's cross on the edge of the area to provide Bailey with an open goal.
But Puttnam soon settled the game. He first dribbled through the Forest Green defence and then took advantage of an awful clearance.

Linnets: Martini (Nower 21), Mills, Clark, Bullimore, Fuff, March, Nwadike, Robinson (Dakin 72), Palmer (Rowland 72), Puttnam, Wright.
