Stamford 2 Lynn 0

THE LINNETS' away jitters struck once again with al woeful showing at the New Flame Stadium.
Against a team with ten men for much of the game, Lynn failed to show the necessary heart and desire required against sides at this level.
Yes, the Linnets did have their fair share of chances, but it was the lack of urgency which left many travelling fans pulling their hair out and wishing they had stayed at home.
To be honest there was more fight on the bench as tempers became frayed during an ill-tempered first period, during which four players were booked and Stamford s Richard Bailey was sent-off for a crude lunge in the 31st minute.
Manager Peter Morris said: "If you can't score. from four yards out with the keeper on the floor then you can expect to struggle.
"We had enough chances and possession to bury them, but it was just a repetition of our away form.
"I don't think we would have scored if we had played all night and I don't like it and the fans certainly don't like it."
Lynn dominated the early stages, but Steve Johnson and Adam Weston were unable to take advantage of one of the opportunities, while Dave Staff's pin-point centre was well held by home keeper Darren Horrigan.

Stamford's first chance saw them take the lead when Bailey found space before unleashing a delightful 25-yard drive past Dean Greygoose.
The remainder of the half became a kicking contest, with the referee losing complete control.
Other than a frantic last ten minutes, Lynn were still in the dressing room for long periods after the break.
With everyone behind the ball, Stamford comfortably dealt with anything Lynn could throw at them.
The Daniels got their tactics spot on, where Lynn looked short on confidence as soon as they approached the Stamford goal.
Stamford were always a threat on the break ant the inevitable second goal was bundled home by Malcolm Ndekwe in the 73rd minute.
Lee Stephenson, Carl Holmes, Paul Raynor and Mark Burrows all had chances to pull a goal back, but Lynn failed to find the net for the fourth time in five away matches this season.
