In six fixtures against three of the top four sides in the Southern League first division, Lynn have now succeeded in taking seven points.
Saturday's goalless draw against Kidderminster followed the 1-1 draw they achieved away to the Harriers in November; the Linnets took two points from leaders Grantham and three from challengers Atherstone. The two defeats by Cheltenham are the only black spots in matches against the top sides.
These results show that the Linnets have the ability to hold their own with the section's leading clubs. But inconsistency and the inability on too many occasions to put the ball in the net have proved their undoing.
Kidderminster had one first half spell when they put Lynn under pressure, but apart from that it was mainly Lynn going forward. It was refreshing to see Mick Wright back to his accustomed role as an attacking wing half and several times he got into potential scoring positions. "I should have had a couple of goals." he said later.
Probably the best chance fell to Mick Bloxham, late in the second half, when he was the only player to go for Dominic McCallum's centre, but he failed to get in the necessary touch.
It was the first time since the early part of the season that Wright was playing his usual game - and it certainly gave Lynn the edge.
The high number of stoppages for niggling fouls and an effective offside trap by Kidderminster made it a frustrating affair for players and supporters alike. Lynn's attitude was more positive and Kidderminster's top scorer Peter Wassell had only one chance in the 9th minute which he put over.
Kidderminster reserve goalkeeper Mark Hingley had an uncomfortable time. He was cut in a collision with Bloxham and his own centre half Terry Jewkes in the first half, then knocked out in an accidental clash with Nigel Smith 20 minutes from the end. Hingley played out time suffering from double vision, with his colleagues packing the penalty area to stop Lynn shots getting through.
