MIDFIELDER Jamie March completed a remarkable comeback from injury, as the Linnets plunged Dorchester deeper into relegation trouble.
March made a brief 13 minute appearance as substitute - just nine weeks after dislocating his elbow in a League Cup, match at Stamford.
Doctors had originally told March he would be out of action for at least six months after an operation left him needing a metal plate in his elbow.
But after defying the odds to return, March told the Lynn News: "It's brilliant to be back. Everyone has been so supportive and the reception I got when I came on the field was amazing, I just wanted to turn round and clap everyone myself.
"It's the worst injury I've ever had. Doctors told me it would be at least six months before I'd play again but I didn't believe them.
"As soon as I left the hospital I took off my sling, as I felt the arm needed to be doing something and I wanted to get as much movement going in it as possible," said March.
His inclusion came right out of he blue, after Kristian Jones picked up a foot injury on Friday night, and manager Tony Spearing said: "I wanted to nurse Jamie back slowly but he rang me on Friday night saying he'd got the all clear from the specialist.
"He was as keen as anything to play and his return gives everyone another big lift. "
By the time March arrived on the field, Lynn had well and truly wiped away the memories of their poorest display of the season, which had come against Cambridge seven days earlier.
Lynn took the lead in the 16th minute when Lyndon Rowland headed home his 20th goal of the season, following a Simon Dakin cross.
Rowland then turned provider 20 minutes from time when his delightfully weighted through-ball pierced the visitors defence for Dave Puttnam to register his first goal since early October.
Spearing said: "Dorchester came here fighting for their lives but they never looked like hurting us. I still think we played in the wrong areas and know we can hurt teams more, but saying that we could have scored four or five today."
Linnets: Martini, Dakin, Clark, Robinsbn, Fuff, Palmer (March 77), Anderson, Hayes (McNeil 81) Rowe, Rowland, Puttnam. Sub not used: Wright.
