Daventry 0 Lynn 1

DANNY Beaumont's 13th goal of the campaign eased the heartache of an injury to fellow top scorer Jack Defty on Saturday.
Beaumont struck the only goal of the game after eight minutes, but the main talking point was a late injury to Defty, who had only been on the field for a minute.
The big frontman went down in a heap when challenging the Daventry goalkeeper and falling badly on his knee. Setchell told the Lynn News: "It was a nothing challenge and there was no malice in it. It was more a case of Jack landing awkwardly on his knee. "He went to see Phil (Ward) on Sunday morning and it has been confirmed that he has damaged his medial knee ligaments.
Town never scaled the heights of their previous two performances but did enough in Northamptonshire after a lacklustre first half display. Setchell admitted his side hadn't been at their best, saying: "We started knocking it long to small forwards, we weren't making angles for the passes - it was a sub standard performance.
"I thought the back four played reasonably well and we managed to get the win. That is what you have to do to win a league and we didn't do it last season.

"We have had three 1-0 wins away from home now, but after scoring so early perhaps you would have expected something more from us."
Lynn's third clean sheet from four league matches saw them sustain the pressure on the league leaders, with Long Buckby netting twice in the last minute to secure a 3-2 win at Deeping.
After a game of very few chances, Setchell added: "We had to come up with a plan B which meant playing in their half.
"We tried to make the pitch big but because we hadn't retained possession that wasn't working.
"It wasn't sticking so I just wanted two banks of four, for us to play tight and make them earn a chance.
"I don't think they made one second half so we have to be grateful for the clean sheet. It's another three points.
"I thought Ross Watson showed what he was about and Robbie was decent. We just have to believe in ourselves a bit more."
