Wisbech 3 Lynn 2

Lynn Town put up a good display at Wisbech on Wednesday when they were defeated by Wisbech 3-2, in the final of North Cambs Hospital Cup. For most of the game Lynn played with Moore almost a passenger as a result of a knee injury.
The crowd of 2,629 included many supporters from Lynn.
Moore was injured in the first five minutes, but despite thisLynn attacked strongly and scored through Grantham. Fakenbridge was taken off the field with an injured shoulder and Wisbech took control of the game.

Lynn's depleted team fought back well and Paton, the former Queen's Park goalkeeper, gave a brilliant display. Blackhirst equalised for Wisbech, before Fakenbridge returned, and Robinson and bates gave them the lead.
Just before the end, Fakenbridge scored for Lynn with a free-kick at 25-yards range and encouraged by this, Lynn attacked strongly. Twice Grantham outpaced the defence and was checked in front of goal.
Paton was given an ovation at the end of the match.
