Lynn 1 Tamworth 0

LINNETS boss Gary Mills was full of praise for his side after Tuesday night's victory over high-flying Tamworth.
"It was an excellent performance. It was good to get the three points. I'm very pleased," he enthused.
A close range strike from Dave Taylor was enough to give the Linnets their second successive three points haul and lift them into the top ten.
"It was always going to be a difficult game, but we showed a lot of passion and determination. There were a lot of good performances," Mills continued.
But things didn't start too well for the Linnets as Tamworth forced three corners in the opening five minutes and then hit the post through Mark Hallam.
Mark Turner should have given the Linnets the lead midway through the half when Dave Puttnam and Lee Wilson linked up well down the right, but Turner couldn't convert Wilson's low cross from close range.
Linnets had strong appeals for a penalty turned down after the half hour when Gay Mills' shot appeared to be blocked by the hand of a Tamworth defender, however, the referee waved away Linnets' protests and Mills only received a booking for his efforts.

But the deadlock was broken on 34 minutes when Turner and Wilson created an opening for Jeremy Goss whose shot from outside the box was deflected into the path of Dave Taylor who scored amidst a melee on the goalline.
Dave Puttnam was denied after the break by a flying save from Lambs' keeper Willetts and then Wilson also brought the best out of the Tamworth number one.
Wilson could have settled the match with 15 minutes remaining, but fired wide after Mills' long ball had released him.
Jeremy Goss then had to clear off his own line from Willie Batchelor's header after yet another Tamworth corner had caused mayhem in the Lynn box.
Willetts again denied Wilson with a brave save and saw Batchelor head Taylor's follow-up off the line before Turner blazed the rebound over the bar.
But Taylor's solitary strike proved enough for the Linnets to extend their unbeaten league run at the Walks to 16 games.
