Gloucester City 0  Lynn 1

THE LINNETS finally laid their Meadow Park hoodoo to rest thanks to a stunning strike from Lyndon Rowland.
Lynn had lost all six of their previous league encounters against the Tigers, but Rowland made sure that statistic wasn’t extended any further with his sixth goal of the campaign.
The front man brilliantly turned his marker in the box before applying a finish of the highest quality after fellow striker Dave Robinson had flicked the ball into his path.
"I had to gamble with Dave’s flick-on from the free kick and it paid off," commented a delighted Rowland.
"This is another great result for us as it’s never an easy place to come and play," added Rowland, whose last two visits had resulted in a 3-1 loss when playing
for Sittingbourne and a 0-0 draw with Gresley Rovers.
Manager Gary Mills was equally as pleased with his side’s latest three points, but voiced concerns over his team selection for Saturday’s meeting with Weymouth
at the Walks after leaving the field with a re-occurrence of his calf problem midway through the first half.
"It was a great strike from Lyndon and it’s another great three points for us," commented Mills.

Lynn’s sixth win in seven league and cup fixtures was down to the form of Glen Fuff who turned in a faultless display at the heart of the Linnets defence.
Fuff, who thought he had opened the scoring after 13 minutes, only to see his effort ruled out for offside, was ably assisted by Chuck Martini who pulled off a trio of fine saves as crisis-torn Gloucester valiantly tried to find a way back into the game.
"Chuck’s made two or three great stops when he needed to and Glen was a rock in the centre of defence. He was magnificent all match," enthused Mills.
"Gloucester battled hard, but so did we. I thought we were a yard off the pace in the first period, but we woke up for the second period."
Other than Fuff’s offside goal, Mills had a 20-yard effort turned over the bar before he limped off the field, while Robinson blazed over the Gloucester bar when
well-placed in the second half.
The pick of Martini’s stops came either side of the break when first of all he foiled Karl Bayliss on the stroke of half-time with a finger-tip save over his bar before pulling off a point-blank stop from home substitute Kwesi Cairns to ensure that the Linnets moved up to fourth in the table.
