Rothwell Town  2 Lynn 1

Rothwell Number 4 Andy Bullimore puts his spot kick high and tries to fly himself!

LINNETS manager Gary Mills refused to blame the recent off-field events for this defeat at basement boys Rothwell on Monday.
"What happened out there had nothing to do with what's been going on off the field," said Mills after seeing Rothwell record their first league success since the end of September.
"Rothwell wanted it a bit more than us and all credit to them they battled hard. Relegated or not you always know what they're about and we were out-muscled.
Although they showed more passion than ourselves, we still had enough chances to secure at least a point from the match.
"We had at least three or four one-on-ones with their keeper which we didn't take advantage of, but scoring enough goals has been our problem all season."

Rothwell took the lead in the 12th minute when Dean Foley drove the ball past Chuck Martini from the edge of the box.
Thirteen minutes before the break, Lynn got back on level terms when Dave Puttnam left home keeper John Hughes with no chance with a swerving 20-yarder.
The home side regained the advantage in the 72nd minute when substitute Paul Hough capitalised on a defensive mix-up between Martini and Mills.
Only a 39th minute penalty miss from Rothwell's Andy Bullimore prevented the final outcome from being even worse for the Linnets after Craig Clark had fouled Richard Preston.

Lynn: Martini, Dakin (Rowland 46), Clark, Robinson, Fuff, Nwadike, Mills, Gibson (Bogan 80), Palmer, Turner, Puttnam. Not used: Ramsey.
